Sean Brawley is a Leader Advisor and Coach who has worked with some of the most successful sports teams and corporations in the world, Sean developed a simple framework and highly effective process for achieving sustainable high performance in high-pressure environments that has proven successful across multiple sports and a wide variety of businesses.
As a result he has become one of the world’s foremost experts on accelerated learning, innovative coaching, and sustainable high performance.
As a Leadership Advisor and Coach, he has custom designed highly unique, experiential programs for many well-known organizations such as GE, Wilson Sporting Goods, Dave & Buster’s, ITT, Union Bank, the New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners and the U.S. Tennis Association.
Sean was Coach Advisor to Pete Carroll and primary mental coach
for the USC football team for 9 years helping the Trojans win 2 NCAA Championships and 3 Heisman Trophies.
Sean is a top world-ranked ATP Tour player who competed at the highest level of the game including Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. So he knows first-hand what it means to achieve high performance—the focus, discipline, practice, commitment, and passion that is required—and sustain it over time.
After the tennis tour, Sean met and began working closely with Tim Gallwey, the author of The Inner Game series of books including the classic, The Inner Game of Tennis. Gallwey helped Sean learn a profoundly different approach to coaching than Sean had experienced himself and open up possibilities for truly extraordinary learning and performance to take place.
Sean is the first certified Inner Game coach in the world. He has facilitated numerous Inner Game of Tennis and Golf workshops in the past 20 years. In 1997, Sean helped Gallwey revise the tennis and golf books and in 2008 organized the first ever Inner Game coaching conference. In 2012, Sean co-developed the Inner Game School of Coaching with Gallwey and served as the lead facilitator.
The Brawley Institute’s programs truly go beyond the ordinary “cognitive” approach to training and development and embraces instead an “embodied learning” approach which typically leads to extraordinary results.
Embodied learning is a holistic approach which integrates thought, feeling and sensation into skillful action. This is achieved primarily from experience and practicing with conscious reflection, rather than power point slides.
